Chapman swift isn't just an exceptional coffee house in Kearney, it's an actual landmark in Portland, Oregon…and quite the site to see.
Every year in late August, one of Portland’s most spectacular natural events begins: Thousands of Vaux’s Swifts gather in the city as they prepare to migrate to Central America and Venezuela.
Migrating swifts often use chimneys as roosts (places to sleep), and they are likely to return to the same roost year after year. One swift population has been returning to the Chapman Elementary School's chimney since the 1980s, and it is one of the largest known roosting sites of migrating Vaux’s Swifts (which apparently are one of the fastest known birds that spend most of their lives in flight).
With a cup of hot top-notch Portlandia roasted coffee in hand you'll too be soaring like the Vaux's Swifts…and maybe while wearing this t-shirt. An artisan hand-carved this artwork to show the beauty that is Chapman Swift, and we get to print it on a shirt just for you!
